CDE AND WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Navodaya Dental College and Hospital, Raichur, organized a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programme and Workshop on Research Methodology for undergraduate and postgraduate students on 3rd and 4th February 2026. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya Education Trust. Prof. Harish Kumar Sardana, Director, IIIT Raichur, graced the occasion along with other dignitaries. The guest speakers were Dr. Thippeswamy H. M., Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry, JSS Dental College and Hospital, Mysore, and Dr. Kalyan Chakravarthy, Professor and Head, MCODS, Manipal.Dr. Suresh Babu A. M., Organizing Chairman and Professor & Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Navodaya Dental College and Hospital, delivered the welcome address. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Girish Katti, Principal, Navodaya Dental College and Hospital, AI will not replace the human, but it will empower. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic and research collaboration was signed between the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Raichur, represented by its Director and Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur, represented by its Principal, with the objective of promoting interdisciplinary research, innovation, and collaborative projects.
A special guest lecture on “Artificial Intelligence in Research” was delivered by Prof. Harish Kumar Sardana, Director, IIIT Raichur, highlighting the scope, applications, and future potential of AI in healthcare and research.
Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya Education Trust, addressed the gathering on the advantages and limitations of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The guest speakers were introduced by Dr. Nasi Ismail, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry.
The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Zaheer Ahmed. Multidisciplinary delegates from Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing, and Pharmacy institutions across Karnataka participated, making the programme a grand success.
The workshop was highly beneficial for undergraduate and postgraduate students in shaping their research ideas and proposal writing. The programme was appreciated by Shri S. R. Reddy, Chairman, Navodaya Education Trust.
