World cancer day is observerd on 4th February every year to raise the awareness and improve knowledge about cancer risk , prevention , detection and its treatment
World Cancer Day  poster presentation on Oral potential malignant disorder and oral cancer prevention organized by the department of Public Health Dentistry and NSS unit Navodaya Dental College Raichur on 4th February  2025 from 9.30 am to 1.30 p.m in accordance to  guideline from National  Oral Health programme, Ministry of  Health and family welfare  Government of India    The theme for 2025-2027 is United By Unique
The programme was presided by Dr. Girish Katti, Principal Navodaya Dental College Raichur, and Dr. Suresh Babu AM Head of the Department along with other staff members from the department of Public Health Dentistry in A V Hall of Central library. The programme started at around 9.30 am with inauguration ceremony.
The welcome speech was given by Dr.Suresh Babu AM, emphasing preventive measure to prevent oral cancer in India The presidential address was  delivered by the Chief Guest Dr.Girish Katti, quoted the importance of the theme United By Unique and each one’s role in the mission against cancer prevention.    Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.Nasi Ismail , followed by poster presentation by third year and final year dental student. 21 student participated in the event about Oral potential malignant disorder   and winners were awarded.
