PROJECT REPORT: CBCT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Navodaya Dental College, Raichur, recently installed an advanced CS 9600 Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) system. To familiarize faculty, students, and practitioners with this new technology and the CS imaging software, the department organized a dedicated training programme.

The event began with an opening remark by Dr. Girish Katti, Principal, Navodaya Dental College, emphasizing the importance of these education programmes, followed by a warm welcome to the guest speakers and participants by Dr. Vajendra Joshi, Prof. and Head, Dept. of Oral Medicine and Radiology.

The programme continued with Dr. Prathibha P and Dr. Sonika, who were greeted with bouquets, followed by a ceremonial watering of a plant symbolizing growth and prosperity. The programme featured an insightful lecture and an interactive session attended by private dental practitioners, members of the medical and dental fraternity of NET, and postgraduate students.

Dr. Prathibha P, an expert in CBCT diagnosis and reporting, led the session, highlighting the clinical applications of CBCT and demonstrating the use of the CS imaging software, with a particular emphasis on implant planning. Dr. Sonika addressed participants’ questions and facilitated discussion, ensuring a lively and engaging exchange of knowledge.

A total of 61 participants actively took part, making the programme a resounding success.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shilpa R. T., Professor, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, followed by the presentation of tokens of gratitude to the esteemed speakers and concluded with high tea.
