Dental Health Education and Screening Camp for HIV Patients – Navodaya Dental College, Raichur

The Department of Public Health Dentistry and Department of Oral Medicine of Navodaya Dental College, Raichur, conducted a Dental Health Education and Oral Screening Camp for HIV patients in association with RISHI Foundation and Hosa Belaku Foundation on 14th October 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The program began with a Dental Health Education session at AV Hall–3, Central Library, where all patients were warmly welcomed with roses and mouth masks.

🩺 Highlights of the Camp

• Welcome Address: Delivered by Dr. Suresh Babu A. M., who greeted participants and set the tone for the session.

• Keynote Talk: Dr. Girish Katti addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of maintaining oral hygiene among HIV patients.

• Guest Lecture: Dr. Anupama, pursuing her MSPH degree at Johns Hopkins University, USA, delivered an insightful lecture on the significance of good oral health for individuals living with HIV.

Following the lecture, Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, Navodaya Education Trust, inaugurated the Oral Screening Camp at the Oral Pathology Department. Universal infection control protocols and disposable diagnostic instruments were strictly followed during examinations.

Dr. Amruth Reddy, Director of Operations, NET, visited the camp and appreciated the team’s efforts. Around 30 HIV patients under antiretroviral therapy participated in the camp and received comprehensive oral health screening.

The camp concluded at 2:00 PM, and lunch was served to all participants, courtesy of the Hosa Belaku Foundation.
