As per the DCI circular, Anti-Ragging Week was observed at Navodaya Dental College from 12th to 18th August 2025. To mark the beginning, an Anti-Ragging Orientation Program was organized on 12th August 2025 for 1st-year BDS students.
The orientation session was led by Dr. Girish Katti, Principal, Navodaya Dental College, who addressed the students about the importance of maintaining a ragging-free campus. The Guest of Honour, Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, Director, IP & SA, and the Chief Guest, Dr. A.S. Anand, Vice Principal, Navodaya Medical College, highlighted the serious consequences of ragging in educational institutions.
Mr. Phanindra Patil, Advocate, Raichur, presided over the function and elaborated on the legal implications of ragging, emphasizing the strict measures enforced to protect students’ safety and well-being.
Faculty members from various departments actively participated in the workshop, showcasing their commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive campus environment.
An essay competition on anti-ragging awareness was also conducted for both first-year and senior students on the same day, encouraging creative expression on the importance of eradicating ragging from campuses.
The Anti-Ragging Day celebrations on 12th August 2025 reflected the institution’s dedication to ensuring student safety, security, and well-being. Through educational workshops, expert talks, and enthusiastic student involvement, the event reinforced the goal of fostering a ragging-free and supportive academic environment.
