CONFERENCE – REPORT
The conference is conducted in Navodaya Dental College by the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology in association with IAOMR Karnataka State Branch for two days 27TH and 28TH of June 2025. Conference was held under supervision of Chief Patron Sri S. R. Reddy sir Chairman, NET; advisory by Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, NET , Dr. Girish Katti Principal, Navodaya Dental College, organizing chairman, and Professor And Head, Dept. of Oral Medicine And Radiology, Dr. Vajendra Joshi, Organizing Secretary.
The conference was held successful by presence of various dignitaries as Dr. Prashanth G M, Vice President of Karnataka State Dental Council and IAOMR Karnataka State President Dr.Ramamurthy T K, General Secretary Dr. Ramnarayan B K and C. V. Mohan who has outstanding contribution to the field of Oral Medicine and Radiology. Various Guest lectures by Dr. Praveen Birur; Dr. Praveen Badri; Dr. Venkatesh Elluru; Dr. Mohan; Dr. Satyabodh S Guttal, ; Dr. Mahantesha. S, were done who emphasized and brought light to their respective topics. 250 delegates from 16 Dental colleges across Karnataka attended the conference with 90 scientific paper presentation and 45 poster presentations were submitted to the organizing committee. The attendance tree was organized were all dignitaries and delegates put there thumb print to mark their presence.
The first day of conference was started by the lecture on Lasers in Dentistry by Dr. Mahantesha. S and then continued by Inauguration Ceremony of the great academic event 4TH IAOMR KARNATAKA STATE UG CONFERENCE 2025. The Welcome address was given by Dr. Girish Katti, Organising Chairman. Distinguished guest Dr. Prashanth G M gave his valuable words regarding the importance of updating knowledge and the works done by KSDC. E-Souvenir was released by dignitaries, felicitation of Dr. Prashanth G M and Dr. C V Mohan, vote of thanks by Dr. Vajendra Joshi, Organizing Secretary then with National anthem the inauguration ceremony was ended.
Sessions continued with lecture on ArtifIcial Intelligence in Dentistry by Dr. Praveen Birur which was an eye opener to the congregation. Lecture on CBCT: Basics and Applications in Dentistry by DR. Venkatesh Elluru followed. Lecture continued about Implant in Dentistry was given by Dr. Satyabodh S Guttal. With a lunch break all the four workshops were conducted separately and they are as follows CBCT; Basic Medical Skills-management of Crisis in Dental chair; Implants in Dentistry; Lasers in Dentistry. Scientific paper presentation was conducted in NMC lecture hall 1 and NMC lecture hall 2 simultaneously along side workshop.
In the evening Gala Dinner, cultural programme was arranged which entertained all the students and to engage themselves for the next day’s academic sessions. With this gala dinner the first day of conference was concluded.
The second day of conference started with lecture on Management of Diabetic and Hypertensive Patients in Dental practice by Dr. Praveen Badri and continued with lecture on Management of Medical Emergencies in Dental Practice by Dr. Mohan. Then the conference continued with remaining scientific paper presentations and 45 poster presentations in AV lecture hall 1, 2 and 3.
The valedictory function was done in the presence of the dignitaries where memento and certificate distribution to organizing committee, certificate for all staff members of organizing team of NDC, and memento to representative of 16 dental institutions for active participation in the conference was presented by dignitaries. Dr. Girish Katti Principal, Navodaya Dental College, organizing chairman summarized the 2 day conference and its achievement while a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Vajendra Joshi, Organizing Secretary.
All the events in conference were well organized by the organizing committee Dr. Girish Katti, organizing chairman; Dr. Vajendra Joshi, organizing secretary; Dr. Shilpa R T, treasurer; Dr. Kiran Kumar, Scientific committee, Dr. Malashri N Ghatke, registration committee.
The conference was brought to a conclusion by distribution of gifts to all student and staff delgates, and video feedback was recorded from delegates which emphasized the importance and motivation to do good in the future were delegates gave high praising of the event for hospitality, resourceful lecture and well planned and executed event.
